Cairo, Egypt – DeepTech, Part of MCS Group, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the EPIC contract in partnership with The Petroleum Marine Services Company (PMS) for West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) Phase X Development by Burullus Gas Company, a joint venture between EGPC and Shell petroleum.

The WDDM Phase X Development will encompass the drilling and tie-in of three new wells, namely Sapsat-3, Sepia-1, and Seagull West-1.

The Three wells, located in water depths ranging from approximately 430 to 700 meters, will be seamlessly integrated into the existing subsea infrastructure as part of the Phase X expansion within the WDDM concession area.

The scope of work consists of FEED design verification engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation engineering, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning assistance to Burullus for the three subsea wells.

DeepTech is responsible for providing ROV intervention services and leveraging the expertise of the MCS Group’s subsea Engineering team for installation engineering, field layout, approach drawings, and subsea interface installation. Meanwhile, PMS will be responsible vessel operations and lifting works for a safe and efficient execution.

Additionally, DeepTech will benefit from MCS Group’s capabilities in subsea survey and inspection support, including MCS proprietary technology, Photo Realistic 3D Cloud (PRC), for accurate 3D subsea measurements.

Project management activities have already commenced by DeepTech and PMS task force team, operating from a dedicated office based in Cairo, Egypt.

The WDDM Phase X new wells are expected to start production in Q2 2024.

With a wealth of experience gained from the operation support contract handled by the same partners for the past eight years, MCS Group companies, including DeepTech and Cortez Subsea, are well-positioned to target the future development phases in a timely and cost-effective manner. This collaboration will contribute to adding more gas to the Egyptian National gas grid, ensuring efficient and economical performance for the future.
